I thought there was some dummy from the 2nd or 6th running. KC??? That dummy would be better than the present dummy at least.

I thought there was some dummy from the 2nd or 6th running. KC??? That dummy would be better than the present dummy at least. Interesting - that so called dummy filed and just won a minimum manning grievance in the 2nd Pct that's going to get a bunch of cops paid OT. "The remedy ordered by the arbitrator is for the County to pay the officers who were next up on the overtime list for the number of hours he/she would have worked had he/she been properly called in to work" This is a massive award. Here's the email from the PBA. As K.C. filed the grievance it's a shame his name his name is missing from the accolades. Last June 2012, the PBA filed a grievance challenging the Police Department's failure to staff the contractual minimum number of patrol cars in the Second Precinct. The grievance was denied by the County, and on behalf of the Second Precinct members, the PBA filed for arbitration. Second Vice President Kevin Tobin and PBA Attorney Seth Greenberg presented our case before the arbitrator and earlier today, the PBA received the arbitrator's award sustaining the grievance. The award concluded: "The County violated the 2003 Interest Arbitration Award when it reduced staffing in the 2nd Precinct for the period, June 1, 2012 to the present." The remedy ordered by the arbitrator is for the County to pay the officers who were next up on the overtime list for the number of hours he/she would have worked had he/she been properly called in to work. The remedy would be from June 1st, 2012 until the time at which the Department corrects the violation. We do not know if the Department intends to appeal this decision at this time. This is another example of County and Department mismanagement. The Department's refusal to sit down and negotiate a settlement, which could have removed the risk of such a substantial monetary award, has once again cost the Department money. We will keep you informed of any updates that occur in regards to this matter.

I hope there are seven NEW candidates running for all board spots. This board has no fight in them. They need to go, ALA the Patty Lynch takeover of the NYPD PBA. Time for some changes...

I agree w/ 1PP, I voted for Patty and his board which included one of the best cops I ever worked with, Walter Liddy. I witnessed him first hand in Midtown South stand up toe to toe against the worst bosses they had to offer. I have now witnessed some of that same fight from the PBA delegates in the 2nd precinct, albeit against far less fierce supervisors. However, I have seen them file succesful grievances that has gotten out members paid CASH OVERTIME in winning those grievances as well as file for bylaw changes that put money back into the pockets of the 1 %ers stuck in steps. They are NOT afraid to fight for their members. I only hope other PBA members are willing to step up and put a challenge to the current board to at least let them know many of us are not happy with the way Jimmy has dealt with the current situation since NIFA has taken over.

The "dummy" you are referring to has been a friend of mine for 23 years and has a brain that's bigger than his ballz. He will always fight the good fight. We would be very fortunate to have him as our next president. Trust me on this. Enough said.

its ok KC, recent news states having small testicals makes for a good parent ...and to anyone else, you need to have thick skin to do this job, and if youre gonna run for a spot, be prepared to be called worse than dummy. I give Jimmy credit being able to maintain his family life and remain President of the union, however I disagree with his methods over the last few years and wouldve preferred to see the fight started when Suozzi was still in office and threatened to lay us off...He is too dedicated to the GOP, whether or not his sons position under Venditto's Town of Oyster Bay affected his decision making, I dont know, but either way it doesnt look ethical/appropriate and seems like a typical Nassau County patronage job that he claims to be against. Someone needs to step up and make some noise and put an end to the givebacks that seem mandatory in every contract for the last 10+ years.

I retired a long time ago but even I know KC. Calling him a dummy is uncalled for. If anything he's a pit bull and you guys could do a lot worse. As a matter of fact, you already are.
