Heard at a pct meeting the other day he was asking for ideas on what they should do!!! Not really confidence inspiring!! Also, with regards to an agreement he said that no retro is only the beginning....our idea that if they took away the retro we would pull a few things off the table is wrong...they want the retro off the table, all we have offered up, plus they want more givebacks...and a few PBA guys were saying they think its ok and guys would go for it!! Wish I were there to have heard that!!

Yes totally agree..... Anybody who voted for team carver should not be complaining about being frozen AND should be very very patient while "meetings" are on-going....... The fact is just get ready to be rammed in the ass by whatever so called " deal" happens and just don't be afraid to vote no if too much more is taken. REMEMBER the county is trying to hire so if we vote no I'm sure that all parties will meet again to tweak a new new new new new new new DEAL. OH and also lets not forget that whatever extension is made, it's only a matter of time that they threaten layoffs to open it up again. Count on that!!!!!!!

I think the threat of layoffs is gone for awhile.
If they manage to hire this 125 number that keeps being thrown around, our chances of a deal and and any leverage we many have had left is gone. My opinion.

IMO it's all about staffing, time off, and health benefits.
I've said it before. If you want wages restored, the county and NIFA wants one, or all of the above.
That is their only way to achieve long term savings.
They must 'shrink' the minimum staffing and increase the appearances by employees.
The PBA and members will have some tuff choices soon.
It's a 'stinkn' situation.
Putting the lawsuit for the freeze and wages off to the side, it appears to me that the only way the county can save is the above.
They need those concessions.

This time around with regards to layoffs, everyone knows what they are stepping into. If guys take the chance to come here, they know the risk of being laid off or another wage freeze after the extension if a deal is made. That is on them & there should be no negotiating on their behalf. Not trying to be harsh on anyone coming here but u need to have your head examined unless of course you are just a college grad with no job etc. I don't think u will see anyone with prior time come here anymore. It's a shame bc the job will be losing good candidates. I know many guys from city who are on list that have got called or bout to be called & none of them will come here with everything going on. I don't blame them & my advice to them is to stay where they are. Who would have thought I'd be saying that.
