the county was granted two weeks extension to file their paperwork.. it is due at the end of this coming up week... the first ruling should come down by the end of MAY... then there will be the summer break and then the appeals will start depending on who wins... you would think after an "appeal" it is over right??? no, they can appeal the appeal!!... and after that they have one more chance to appeal the appeal the appeal... and now you know why NIFA is in no hurry.. they can sit on out money for years and get interest.. they dont have to make a deal until the last appeal is being heard!... Carver has a tough job there is no disputing that.. my whole beef is how can you have 3 meetings per week and get nothing done?? if they dont want a deal F THEM.. dont even meet with them, it makes us look weak

Regarding the lawsuit, that is actually true. From what the Pba & the attorneys have told us recently, it is a far longer process than we were lead to believe. After a decision comes down sometime this year, the loser will appeal in State Court. From my understanding, you can actually appeal the appeal in Federal Court, I believe. If we lose that, we have to go back to Judge Wexler (if he is still alive) and argue the 2nd part of our lawsuit & the process starts all over again. And this is just for 2011.

Wait if they appeal and it goes to federal court don't we automatically win? A federal judge has ruled already on the matter. The issue the fed appeals had was that it was a significant state interest.

if they appeal in state court and win then we could go back to federal court and the judge would have to rule on the other two matters we have argued, one of which being if it is unconstitutional to break a contract. then they can start appealing in federal court... this could take 5 years if it has to also go back to federal court... i highly doubt something would not be worked out by then so nobody takes a chance getting crushed in court but who knows anymore

fios1news.com/longisland/node/53302This is what the PBA is wasting their money on...$5000 donated to the ASPCA for this dog...I'm sure most guys could of used that money to pay some of their bills. Keep it Going Jimmy!

A ruling can come down anytime from after the briefs till several months. Stop posting things like around May please. Its false info. The judge will rule when he rules.

Even dominoes pizza employees got their wage lawsuit settled .... Maybe we should use their lawyers .
NYC Domino's settles wages suit for $1.3M
February 1, 2014 BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Delivery workers at a Domino's pizza shop in New York City have accepted nearly $1.3 million to settle a lawsuit in which they claimed they were routinely stiffed out of overtime pay.
The lawsuit is one in a string filed by restaurant delivery workers over alleged labor law violations.
The New York Times reports that the settlement will cover claims by 61 workers who claimed managers at a Manhattan Domino's told them they wouldn't get paid for overtime hours, forcing them to rely entirely on tips.
State law requires restaurant workers to be paid a minimum wage, even when they are also receiving tips.
But at many New York City restaurants, those provisions are still ignored.
Franchise owner David Melton tells the Times that the company "made some mistakes."
