if so..show me one state that law enforcement does not have pensions and only a 401k............ Most states are converting to 401k plans especially in the south and states with republicans in charge. How long have you been retired? have you even looked at tier 6 pension plan for new york state??? its nothing like tier 2..tier 6 will never see the pension amounts that tier 2 are getting....and who made tier 6..good old democrat andy cuomo......

I did a bunch of googling to check out your claims..I havent found any state that the fire or police have mandated 401k retirements, they are all exempt..if you want to voluntarily have a 401k you can do it , but non are mandated...

Agreed it sucks and some of those are still in debate with the states, and its for NEW hire, so you know what you are getting before you get hired, I cannot worry about what pension or retirements are for the unborn, I have to worry about what impacts me HERE and NOW..and cuomo is no good for HERE and NOW...thats the bottom line....might sound self centered, but lets be honest..noone else gives a shvt about you except you....being that this is not about the safety of cops on the job and just money..I would be more worried on what just happened with the last pay freeze and the following disappearance of salaries of guys still on the job...

If your already on the job, then your pension is secure from being converted to a 401k..other than that its a crap shoot you dont get jammed up and lose it...

Luvinretiremt your pension is safe as well until the politicians borrow against it, raid it, or set up 401ks in the future insuring no more contributions. Although that would most likely have been sped up if repubs won in this state. We will see how the repub governors who won their states treat the pension system as well as police, fire and teacher unions. If walkers Wisconsin is indicative I guess we know what to expect. Not that the dems are any better with their anti police, embrace the thug culture mentality. So pick your poison!

Let's not forget that we won a major victory last night. Not only did we get rid of Rice, we put her in a place where she can't do any damage. (I never liked Blakeman either) Any ideas who might replace her?
