They borrowed the days from 2015 to give guys off for the holidays. I really don't see the problem.

I really don't see the problem. when you allow the county to borrow days or time to cut OT , whether under the claim to give people off , it sets a bad president , then they will do it whenever there is OT to be killed. as they hire more cops they wont need those days down the road, so you lost all those holiday OT spots ..

Yes but the county lost the 68s in 2015. I see what you are saying but I'm sure more guys would rather have these holidays off then work them.

I see what you are saying but I'm sure more guys would rather have these holidays off then work them. the problem is when it suits the cops its great, but when it suits the county the cops will cry..you cant have it both ways, we use to fill in a precinct for golf outings and parties, basically cops from all over the county would fly in to fill spots, and when the county said great idea to cut down OT, cops cried..we dont know the precinct its not safe..well it work for the golf outings when we wanted it too, but when the shoe was on the other foot we took offense to it.. you cant have your cake and eat it too...the county is giving up 68 days next year..are they going to guarantee holiday OT next year for them?..when they hire a bunch more cops will they need them?

New kids come out backfill roll calls - more payback days less OT - win - win for county - retiring guys get less - county management at it's best -

What happens when you work in a command that the CO doesnt grant the days off? What about the commands that arent short? The problem here is this is not in the contract. The problem here is, we are still frozen and we have given back beyond the realm of reality already and the givebacks MUST stop.

Bottom line this wasn't in the contract. If your are changing the contract then put it to a vote. There are a ton of things that the pba should have ask for besides lifting the frees and longevity that would be cost neutral to the county and they didn't. I hope these new hired start leaving for other police jobs soon.

I definitely see all your points. This isn't how it used to be where the department did right by us so we did right by them. They do nothing but fvck us and we keep taking it. One thing I will say though is that the PBA always takes the poor showing at the meetings as a sign that we are happy. I say it's just the opposite I think many are just broken and have given up.
