Quote from Newsday : Tonight
The impact on Long Island, though, depends on factors such as track and timing, and it’s just too early to pin them down with much certainty, Kacan said. Depending on the track, the range for the Island includes “a very significant event with heavy snowfall,” to “a lot of rainfall,” to even just a fairly dry day, should the system take a turn out to sea, he said.
Is there any doubt, why politicians, and prognosticators, try to be politically correct without taking a formal position?

I better go out and buy milk and bread......or maybe I better not. Nah, don't go out right away, Red. Go out in the heart of the storm to run to the store, this way if you get stuck, it'll give the boys on patrol something to do. I mean, I'm sure they'll be quite bored unless there's people on the road. That seems to be the prevailing theory amongst Long Islanders, anyway.

I better go out and buy milk and bread......or maybe I better not. Buy a bag of flour. Then you'll be ready for anything.

2" of snow here in the southern part of North Carolina. I didn't shovel, and my driveway is clear. Street is clear too, with not a plow in sight. Schools closed on Monday !!! Don't miss the 2-3 feet of snow. Mid 60's here by next week !!
