Hope it’s not exactly the same deal again.

Yeah, me too. It won’t pass muster if it is.

Hearing that too. HeRd the same thing end of the summer and a bit before Election Day. Also hearing it’s on par, maybe worse, than the contract that was voted down. Hopefully that last part is not true.

Waiting to hear from a rep on details. Stuff flying around is very similar to last deal. One year negotiation with High Paid attorney… And presto

One less payback and one purple day added like the old days which is nice to have back I think is the difference. Guy with 15 years on is getting like a 18k raise right away minus Healthcare which is around 3900 so it's about 14k extra plus 3 percent the next 3 years each which u usually don't get anymore. I'm gonna vote yes

I'm gonna vote yes I'm with you, had some good things, the 15yr stipend ain't bad and I don't think you're going to see numbers like that again if times stay the way they are going. It'd be nice to actually see a long awaited raise, and the end number ain't that bad either! JMHO

No brainer yes vote. Need a serious reality check if u think we can do better with NIFA hanging around and the economy tanking.

No brainer yes vote. Need a serious reality check if u think we can do better with NIFA hanging around and the economy tanking. Nifa is the big one. Complete Union breaker and completely makes negotiations one sided. That said I voted no because I feel voting yes would be accepting a lot less than we are entitled to for the work we do, and it gives passes to the county that they shouldn’t get. I don’t think we would do worse in another contract negotiation. I believe the county will have more to loose if the contracts aren’t sorted out soon. For the new guys, I feel for you. This job is going down hill fast and it gets worse with each contract. I’m on my way out. The givebacks won’t really effect me, but I would like to leave this job with it being better for the young guys.

What changes are proposed regarding health insurance and are retired members affected?
A decent raise is nice but I'm afraid that if the economy tanks it will only be a matter of time before those raises will be eaten up; a tough decision for current guys in any case.

As of now no changes are being made to retirees or to people that retire before the contract expires. The raises aren’t decent. I looked up the average wage increases in the US on the SSA website. These are way lower than the national average.
