Death of Anthony Manley
From NCPDRETIRED
I Just saw the Death Notification of Anthony Manley, retired NCPD. I remember a Tony Manley in the First back in the early '70s. He had one Blue eye and one Brown eye, and Cops, being the cruel bastards that we are, called him "Spare parts". Do you remember him? Same guy?
Yep
Newsday Obit
MANLEY - Anthony D., of Wantagh on May 6th, 2013 in his 80th year. Beloved husband. Loving father of Kathryn, Margaret and Andrew. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Emily, Lauren, Daniel Tanabe, Jake. Proudly retired from the Nassau County Police Department. Reposing after 2pm on Thursday at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 9:45 am, at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, (Bedford Ave. Bellmore). Private Cremation to follow.
Never liked the guy. When he got his stripes and was sent to the First, the stripes went to his head, the cops hated him and the other supervisors didn't like him.

When he got his stripes and was sent to the First, the stripes went to his head, the cops hated him and the other supervisors didn't like him. Yes, I remember his name interchangeably used by some to describe a daily bodily function but I remember quite a few old school bosses who broke our chops like he did. I don't know what type of a person he was off the job, a husband and or father, so I will say R.I.P.Sarge, and even if you kept us young guys on our toes playing cat and mouse, those times are, in some strange way, fond memories.

I had little or no contact with him, working up in the Squad, other than remembering his "nickname"... RIP brother in Blue......
