"and a police car is involved"
Makes is sound like the police car was moving until she says it was parked. Would they have said "and a News 12 reporters car is involved" I don't think so.

I heard tonight that the county is so short of cars, with no new vehicles to replace the existing fleet, that patrol sector cars are using supervisor vehicles, and the sgts & Lts are staying inside, due to no available vehicles for them !!!

This is not a new development, in my pct there are 2 supervisor cars being utilized everyday for posts. I'm certain it's the same in other pcts. O.T. Is through the roof, Krumpter is actually calling people who have turned down this job to inquire why, as if he really does not know the answer. Voluntary holdovers for entire tours, supervisors holding over for the same. Detective cases piling up like no other time in the dept. I am sure there are over 100 guys who will retire this year who will be replaced by 30 guys (county math). The same number will probably leave the year after, but the big year will be the end of 2015, if there is no settlement or court victory I foresee losing 300-400 experienced guys to retirement. And I don't foresee any major increase in hiring due to the freeze. So if you think O.T. Is through the roof now, get ready to live at the pct, if you think your cases are overloaded wait. Short roll call will be just that short! All of this could be avoided however, In my short time here something tells me based on the past it won't be.
