1-Year-Old Child Shot in The Head in iddle of Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn
The victim, who was in stroller at the time, was shot in the head Sunday evening.
9-1-13 - The bullet that killed a 1-year-old Brooklyn boy Sunday night had his father’s name on it, police sources said.
Antiq Hennis was nestled in his stroller, just inches from his parents, when the shot pierced his head just a block from the family’s Riverdale Ave. home, cops and witnesses said.
The child’s father — the intended target, according to law enforcement sources and family — was unharmed but distraught after bullets started flying at Bristol St. near Livonia Ave. at 7:20 p.m.
“He was screaming his baby got shot. He was going crazy,” said Gina Gamboa, 22, who saw the dad seconds after Antiq was mortally wounded.
No arrests have been made and nobody was being questioned as of late Sunday, police said.
Antiq is the 16th victim under the age of 16 to get shot in city streets since mid-May and the second kid to die, according to a Daily News analysis.
His grieving parents were hunkered down in their Riverdale Ave. home.
A woman who said she was Antiq’s godmother left the hospital shaken.

A gunman hit a 3-year-old boy in the arm as he fired away while running through a Bronx park Friday, police sources said.
The sources said a 36-year-old man — the trigger-happy dope’s intended target — was shot in the leg when up to three shots were fired inside Vidalia Park off E. 180th St. and Daly Ave. in West Farms at 5:45 p.m.
Police and witnesses said the bloodshed began when the unidentified gunman and his victim started fighting while the little boy played with his mother nearby.
