Mangano can't come back to us asking for more, until the leg or NIFA vote it down. He signed the MOA already. Hopefully the 3 NIFA spots filled this week and the one filled last year will help this deal pass. State can still judge in our favor, however that could take 1-2 years. Hope everyone votes yes, now!! Mangano could still nix the deal, after we vote on it, it has to be voted on by the county leg. It wouldn't be difficult for Ed to "encourage" the county legislators to vote the deal down. If that happens it will never make it to NIFAs desk! Then King Ed can come back to the PBA and say, yeah sorry the legislators want more concessions.

Any way you slice this its a shvt sandwhich. I seriously doubt this " deal" will get by as is. We went from driver seat to rear booster seat. Anymore givebacks means NO deal and let the county try to hire. We still have 2 feathers in our cap... 1 the need to hire. 2 election year. If this was not an election year we'd be TOTALLY " F "ed..... NO MORE givebacks period.

I agree with the need to hire as a motivating factor for the county. They're having a hard time filling up any academy class because people are either not interested or not responding or waiting to hear what's going on with the freeze. The county is going to want to hire with a new structure for new recruits. If they hire now, any class will fall within the old contract and will cost money in the long run. The new contract has them paying into their health benefits and makes it longer to reach top pay.

Beware of NIFA's Red Pen. They need to make their mark.

NIFA already had doubts and unless Cuomo puts in a word with NIFA the deal will get shot down.

In the latest email, Carver states the contracts signed and they can't go back on it. But last time Didn't we have a signed contract and the decision came out and we took the deal off the table? Or was that deal not signed yet? I can easily see the county pulling out now looking for more.

Well most recently PERB ruled in the PBAs favor in regard to a deal that Magano signed adding minimum staffing to BSO 18 months ago. He tried to pull out of the deal the next day. PBA went to perb and 5 months ago ruled in PBAs favor. Which is why the CIRRT guys moved to BSO. So following that precedent he can't just pull out. As others said it would have to be voted down by the legislature or NIFA

No Republican will get my vote ever again! They are proven anti UNION across the board. If you vote GOP you're just not paying attention.... Ok, then what? Vote for the other party that is violating the Constitution every chance they get in an attempt to fundamentally change this country into a Socialist, welfare state? I will vote for individuals who support our Constitution and the 'American Way', no matter what party they are in. There are probably some people like that who support us too and they could be in any party. Today, voting straight Democrat is a vote for Communisim.....in my opinion.

Before the new board could even meet, however, a unanimous federal appeals court ruling crushed whatever leverage the PBA had. Hours later, Kaiman suggested in a statement that the latest deal was dead by urging everyone to "re-engage." If the last sentence does not say it all I don't know what does. For all of you who say let the state decide, I ask you how did it go for buffalo? Ohhhh but its different, really look at the decision rendered against buffalo by the N.Y. State court of Appeals. This is going to be one colossal circle jerk, it will be passed by PBA, possibly by legislature now, depending on how much political pressure they receive by the public and Newsrag, but if you don't think Mangina ran to Nifa and said wait till I get re-elected before you make a decision well..... I hope I am wrong. Much different ball game now boys and girls, and if you believe the county and Nifa don't have the upper hand then its a useless to argue. Well they have to hire, true, which could be our last bargaining tool, but does Nifa look at it that way. The shell games are over, Unions are looked at as enemies, the politicians will never raise taxes and plainly and simply if we don't adapt we will go the way of the dinosaur. In my opinion this gets shot down by Nifa, but since Nifa has people a bit more friendly I think all sides sit down and re-negotiate, however I don't think anyone is going to like what comes out of those negotiations.

Red, then you should have voted for Ron Paul or Gary Johnson for president. On the national level both major parties are one in the same. On the local level democrats are the only party who is pro labor. The GOP sees your PENSION and BENEFITS as SOCIALISM!

Opie, the Democrats will be pro labor right up until they gain what they want, absolute control and for everyone to be working in a Socialist worker's paradise. They'll dictate wages and benefits and unions will be 'obsolete'. We have to face it. We have no real friends in the 'Parties', only pretend friends at best. Our Liberty is in jeopardy. Our Republic needs to be rescued. I will try use my vote to assist in that rescue. I may have to boycott both parties to achieve that. Locally, we'll see what happens if the other side gets back in. I don't have great expectations if they do.....

The GOP has sworn an oath not to ever ever ever raise taxes. That means the only way to save is by attacking LABOR.

For all those who think that Big Ed can't screw you on this shvtty deal remember he also signed the 2013-15 extension as a legislator. Do you trust him I sure don't. And the timing on this whole bag of crap is too suspect for me.
