Anyone on here who took the SGTs exam yesterday find the selection of questions ridiculous? Leave it to this department to go out of its way to give as little time as possible for preparation, obviously PAY for a whole new format to the test itself (because you know we are FLUSH with $$$$), and six weeks before the test decide to NOT include the penal law that they have provided the last three times? The list of frustration is endless but and to whomever did well on the test congratulations but as with most things this job does it didn't make much sense.

Rumor was the test was going to encompass situations bosses encountered in daily patrol. You guys think it met that criteria? Any idea on how to protest some questions?

I spent a decent amount of time studying and thought i was pretty prepared but very little of what I studied for was on that test. A lot of obscure stuff. I talked to several people that studied hard and everyone said the same thing. Total curveball

Personally, after I get promoted with the 72 I wrote(easily top 10%) I will be looking forward to mentoring the cops who come to me and ask if they are doing the right thing by putting in for the Detective Squad. However that's only after going out drinking and using my superpowers as a supervisor to quell the future problems of the (lowly cops) drinking and acting rowdy next to me. All the while settling the dispute between jack and Jill who pushed each other, punched each other and yelled at each other over a tank of gas. However the single most important thing I will do as a supervisor is to teach the penal law which I can recite blindfolded on a high dive over an empty pool. Because we all know as a supervisor or cop you are NEVER allowed to refer to its ever changing, ever confusing, laws, rules and regulations. I'm a little lacking on the FCA though I've only got 3/4 of that memorized.

I think you are supposed to counsel about the DT job, but what do I know.
