Authorities are investigating the alleged stabbing of John A. "Junior" Gotti, son of the late Gambino crime boss John Gotti, on Sunday in Syosset.
A spokesman for Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said Monday that investigators from her office and Nassau police are conducting the probe jointly.
Police said only that they're looking into a report that a male victim was stabbed in a CVS parking lot in Syosset at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. Police declined to identify the victim.
Police got a call at 10:19 p.m. from an official at a Long Island hospital, reporting that they were treating a stabbing victim.
A police spokeswoman said Monday that the victim "was uncooperative."
"The victim refused to answer any of the police questions. The only thing we did get was there was a stabbing," she said.
Police said there are no surveillance cameras outside of the CVS. Gotti's attorney couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
In 2010, Gotti's fourth trial in five years on racketeering charges ended in a mistrial after a federal jury in Manhattan could not reach a verdict.
Gotti, 49, of Oyster Bay, has admitted he was in the mob, but has said that he dropped out years ago.
