I don't pay for Newsday or Cablevision so your link is worthless. Keep your money out of your enemies pockets.

NYS Tax Relief Commission report recommends freezing property taxes for 2 years in certain areas
Published: December 10, 2013 4:05 PM
OLD WESTBURY - Gov. Andrew Cuomo, former Gov. George Pataki, and Nassau and Suffolk County executives were in Old Westbury today to hear the final recommendations of the New York State Tax Relief Commission report.
The report recommends that New York state freeze property taxes for two years for homeowners in areas where they have abided by the 2 percent property tax cap.
However, there is a catch for year two. According to the report, the tax freeze would only apply to homeowners in jurisdictions that are making real efforts to save money by consolidating or sharing services.
Cuomo says this would be an incentive for the locations to find ways to cooperate.
The report has to be sent to the state Legislature for approval, but it is not clear if or when that will happen.

unfortunately the Dolans have blocked Verizon Fios from entering Brookhaven and satellite wasn't able to be installed in my area either, I'm stuck sleeping with the enemy until that changes. Newsrag/NEWS12 is still a better source than the PBA so I gotta keep it

Within 15 years there will be a "Long Island Police Department." It will happen, as will, within 20 years, a "Nassau Central School District," and a "Suffolk Central School District," or a "Long Island School District." There will also be a "Long Island Fire Department." And the "Towns" will fold into an Island-wide "services"- something or other too. The limit of taxation on Long Island is almost here, or rather, it has been here, for awhile.
