Apparently there was yet another meeting between the county, Nifa and the PBA today. Word has it Nifa is still not satisfied with the givebacks and are stilll want millions more. When is enough enough? When is this joke going to be over? And when is anyone going to realize we are simply being strung along!

The County, Nifa, and the PBA all want to agree and move forward.
But, under what terms.
If you think the County wishes to save 250,000 to save 5000 ( 50x 5000) a recruit on health insurance VS. a freeze for all.........you are nuts!
They'd rather pay OT until they get the deal they want.
No one side has the other over a barrel, except NIFA!

Hahaha what a joke!! Ya know i do agree it may be taking alot longer because Jimmy ISNT giving them ( Nifa, County) everything they want. However it is taking waaaaay too long!!! Again do you actually think these people making $200,000+ are even thinking of the guys in steps this holiday season?? And their families?? And their mortgages?? Doubt it very much or there would be a deal done already!!! Fact. Shvt show!!

The latest rumor I heard was the county will hire another 50 guys in January under the current deal because of the January retirements.

The latest rumor I heard was the county will hire another 50 guys in January under the current deal because of the January retirements. ...and the latest rumor on that is Cuomo has said that he doesn't want another person hired that will go into teir 2. I believe under the present sitution that is what will happen with any new hires...dissenting opinions?

There is no more tier 2. They'll be 'non-contributory' tier 6.

Word on the street is that bc nifa won't sign off on a deal, the county will roll the dice & see how many guys will actually take the job in January being frozen for probably a very long time at 34k. And the best part is they are going to try & have them sign a waiver that if a deal is ever reached that they will subject to the conditions of the new hirees based under new deal. I don't see too many people taking this job under those conditions & especially being stuck at 34k for unforeseen future. We'll see.

If they keep hiring without a deal, Seth and his boys better start earning their 30% raise they got. How does the county get away with taking on additional payroll but not honor the current contracts in place. If this happens, I think it will be time for us to finally take a stand on our own and peruse other options without the PBA.

Anyone who takes this job without a deal being in place has no right to complain when they wind up for for peanuts fro the rest of their career.

Carver needs to cut the Suffolk deal. 12 Yearts to top pay pay into your medical and pension. Their is no reason current guys should have to wait ten years for top pay while a new hire gets it in 8.5 and if you don't like it don't take the job.
