Well, that should put to rest anybody who thought that last proposal was going to go to a vote... Every time I read one of his emails it gives me some hope as if he has something in the works... sort of like he is hinting that we are going to have to endure "pain" with a deal he has in front of him. Then weeks go by and I realize it was just smoke and mirrors.... Hopefully one of these days our president and the almighty "board" will come through for us.

I think we suffered enough pain from the freeze, don't give away tier 2 and the give backs on the deal we voted on stunk, July will be here, if that is the ruling date, soon enough, unfortunately, the county will never hire anyone. The whole thing stinks!!!

Oh, if he wants to feel pain, then Jimmy should give back all the built in OT the board gets and use that as a give back for steps!!!

The email was well written , concise and articulate. All of his points were made well and are reasonable.

His email contradicts his email announcing a pending deal. 1/9/14 "After our meeting with NIFA and the County today, we met with the Board of Governors and it was determined that we would continue to try to finalize the deal that is currently on the table." 1/12/14 "Someone has written that I recommended this deal. That is completely false! The thing I recommended was that the Board vote yes on continuing to talk as a sign of unity." Which is it Jimmy?

I've heard that they were gonna pursue that deal, but the backlash from the members was quite a bit more than expected. Who knows if it's true or not.

Caver has so far failed as a union head. He has not demonstrated any leadership what so ever during the freeze. His holding on to information of a deal or what we are being offered or asked of is proof of his own doubt of his ability to lead us. NIFA , the county and the PBA board know what is being offered and asked for. The membership are the only ones being left out.

We will be lucky if something gets done by July. Just another Excuse for Jimmy to use now. And by then the decision from Diamond will come out in the counties favor and then the county will demand even more. Now is the time to get something done before its too late.

I'm willing to wait in the hopes that we are going to get our steps and retro (don't laugh). Its possible the State Court will rule against us, but don't forget we still have a Federal Lawsuit pending. I doubt the Federal Court would re-affirm a State's ability to unilaterally violate a binding contract and thereby nullify the Contracts clause of the US Constitution. To do so would bring chaos in contracts law and make it impossible for anyone to do business with Government. One of the main reasons for Civil courts to exist is to enforce contracts and to punish those who violate those contracts, I know guys are suffering, many way worse than me, but I'd be willing to wait and let things ride on the lawsuit before accepting scraps from Nifa's table.
