THE SHACK NYPD Blog Bratton: 'Less emphasis on numbers, more emphasis on actual impact'Police Commissioner Bill Bratton shared his vision of the NYPD's future on the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association website Tuesday, promising that cops will no longer be playing a numbers game. "(There will be) less emphasis on numbers and more emphasis on our actual impact," Bratton said in a six-minute video titled "Cops Count, Police Matter." He also shared his vision of collaborative policing with the city's multi-cultural communities. "If we can truly harness the energy and power of communities, identify problems, shape social behavior and work cooperatively, there will be a force multiplier like no other," he said. He also took a jab at his age, adding that cops on the beat "were kids" when he was police commissioner in the 1990s.

It was a great idea that got caught up in the numbers game.

SQF isn't an "idea" it's an effective tool in the law enforcement arsenal, the problem was that douch kelly made it into a stat & REQUIRED a certain number of them conducted EVERY month, that was/is NOT it's purpose.

SQF isn't an "idea" it's an effective tool in the law enforcement arsenal, A tool much like our Field Interview. Imagine what would happen if some Commissioner made every Cop get a couple of those every day?

Imagine what would happen if some Commissioner made every Cop get a couple of those every day? Yes, mentality of HQ. Street light outages Damaged sign reports Bicycle violations JAB Assistance to other depts Many reports of useless information which....might I say... is gone! And most, never mattered. .....................care to continue, I need a laugh!
