Today was supposed to be the final day for Nassau County property owners to grieve their assessments, but that deadline has been extended to Friday. Last week, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announced that due to the "pending winter storm" -- which was expected to hit Long Island Monday with as much as six inches of snow before it was downgraded Sunday night -- he directed officials at the Assessment Review Commission and Department of Assessment to accept property tax assessment grievance filings until March 7. Although the intial snow forecast didn't hold up, the grace period for the tax grievances remains in effect.
Why extend it, you won't pay them anyway.
