OK then what happened during hurricane Sandy, when outside agencies from all over took over the JOBS of NASSAU COUNTY PD??? Not a word was spoken against it. Are you SERIOUS??? I mean what you're using as an example is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS, in times of Catastrophic Emergencies such as Hurricane Sandy or say 9/11 those lines NO longer exist, the bottom line in those situations is to Help people out Not get your panties all in a bunch because some other agency handled a job that under NORMAL circumstances would be handled by your agency. What is being spoken about in this thread has Nothing to do with the example you just provided. Lets be real, how much ot did you work during the storm?? lots I be. But if you lost out on some because an outside agency took it from you. You would be screaming and how many people did you help? It turned into an excuse to make the members write summonses and we got to drive around in neat humvees. The only place that really needed the extra help was Long Beach. When ever a state car passed, they where good enough to grab coffee. If you had to sit at a stationary post because your own guys wouldn't even help you out on that. Oh yeah, we watched the gas lines.

Listen, I'm not trying to make a full blown pissing match out of this, I was mearly making the point that another union regardless of circumstances won against the county from a judge, that's all I was trying to say.

Lots I bet, but if you lost out on some because an outside agency took it from you, you would be screaming and how many people did you help? To tell you the truth I was pretty busy that night and if somebody helped me out handling a job I didn't look at his patch before I accepted it. Listen, I understand where your trying to go with this but this thread is totally different than that. I'm unfamiliar with your agencies "Bayville Agreement" but say Mangano decided he wasn't going to honor that and allow that agreement to be dissolved how would you, your fellow members or your union feel about that? I don't think there too many NCPD guys who actually were in favor of the Pct's being consolidated, yet it was done, does that make it right?, does that mean it's actually working for the better? On both of those questions I would answer NO.

AH, I got you now, it makes sense, you must be scpd, yes I know how you must feel, and like I said regardless of the pain that is to you, im not saying the sheriffs deserve the deal made by levy, thats not my point at all, wasnt even thinking along those lines..so sorry if it sounded that way.. the only point was that a judge sided with a union..doesnt matter what union , just a union...and that is the only fact that applies to our current issue with mangano and nifa....and noone but the politicians wanted the pcts combined...and its costing them more $$ for it..just like in you case ..

No problem, I DO understand where you're going in the sense that this may set some sort of precedent that may favor the NCPD over NIFA, but I believe the NIFA issue to be bigger than that and I don't know if this will help you guys. Unfortunately you're stuck between the state demanding the counties fund mandates that should NEVER be funded at the county level and NIFA trying to maintain some sort of relevance by thinking themselves more important than they actually are.

Scabs or not, the Deputy Sheriff's themselves didn't pull politics. The same way Carver sits back and plays ball like a b*tch with the county and NIFA doesn't reflect everyone's position.
rabbit, my opinion on this is that HWY should have never been taking from you guys in the first place...

I agree with you, the whole hwy fiasco was/is BS. Now, to say the SCABS were Not involved in the politics of this is False, I stated in earlier post that this Whole thing was concocted by "The Douchebag" & demarco the SCABS union head prior to it coming to fruition. The SCABS were fully aware of the ramifications and went along with it anyway, they were/are complicit in this & should not receive anything but Scorn from other LE Agencies, PERIOD.

It should be noted that the whole thing started when both County Execs demanded that the State pay for the coverage or have the Troopers take over, The State refused on both counts.
