This is horrible. Now I'm hearing that this was no accident. The Trooper was intentionally run down.

RIP, prayers and condolences to the troopers family. Let's hope this assh*le who did in fact intentionally hit him rot in hell. www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/n-y-state-trooper-killed-fla-man-intentionally-hit-police-article-1.1810747Almond Upton, 60, told cops he was driving to Connecticut from Melrose, Fla. when he swerved along Interstate 81 near Binghamton to purposefully hit Trooper Christopher Skinner, 42. The 13-year veteran died instantly, police said. A Florida man was charged with murder Thursday after he intentionally struck and killed a New York state trooper who was standing outside his patrol car as he made a traffic stop along Interstate 81, police said. Almond Upton, 60, smashed into State Trooper Christopher Skinner around noon between Chenango Bridge and Castle Creek outside Binghamton in Broome County. The 42-year-old trooper died instantly, state police said. Upton clipped two cars driving north along the roadway before he “traveled from the passing to driving lane intentionally striking Trooper Skinner and sideswiped the car he stopped,” police said. Upton continued on for several yards before he ditched his white truck and ran into the woods, where cops found him about an hour later without any clothes on, WBNG-TV reported. The man told cops he was driving from his home in Melrose, Fla. to visit his mother in Connecticut. Police said Upton, who has a DWI conviction from 2008 in Florida, appeared sober. He’s held without bail. Skinner, a 13-year veteran from Binghamton, is survived by his fiancee, Surrena, two children - 15-year-old Kyle and 12-year-old Erin - his mother Sharyn and brother Shawn. “Trooper Skinner selflessly dedicated 13 years of his life to the New York State Police, and his actions have impacted the lives of many,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. “His commitment to the people of this State is commendable and will no doubt be remembered for years to come. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I offer my condolences to his friends and family, and express my deepest gratitude for Trooper Skinner’s service.”

RIP brother. It's a reminder how some people just want you dead for simply wearing the uniform that you wear. My prayers go out to his family.
