Tex' quip for girls getting raped...."Lay back and enjoy it." got him fired.  Awhile ago someone on here said he lived in Lynbrook and may have been quite a tippler. |

Times were much simpler back then. If he screwed up today he'd probably be running for Mayor.

Coots,
He lived in Lynbrook off Sunrise H'way behind Howard Johnson's in the area that had all the English named streets. I drove a Highway car in the Fifth and he would be on Sunrise in his little two seater on the way home aftre the weather report, sometimes a little "gassed" if you know what I mean. He did not deserve to get 'canned' from his informative show with "Uncle Weathby" I watched him on the nights I was off and enjoyed his comments..

Even though I was a kid, I remember his forecasts to this day. Tex was unique among weathermen. I even remember my parents talking about Tex being a little under the weather on some nights.
