I'd say the second one is a Diplomat.

The key is the gas cap. The Diplomats had doors, the Volares didn't

We drove the Dodge Diplomat back then.

Correction; top pic Volare, bottom Diplomat, Dip wrapped tailight in view.
Looks like the Diplomat, but it's similar to the later model volare. Remember the first year w/ the 318, a pig. I liked the Fury w/ the 400. Some were 4 barrel if I remember. All nose. Thanks for the Pics.
