Worse...
and this is not intended to be a slight to those on Village jobs.
This is solely my personal experience !!!
Many moons ago, I had an interview with the Oyster Bay Cove Police Commissioner in his house. I was already on the big job and on the top of the frozen Nassau list.
This interview was on a Friday for a Monday hire date.
He asked me a hypothetical question about the son of a resident being found in possession of a small amount of narcotics, "what would I do?", he asked.
I politely answered that his question alone had convinced me to decline his job offer.
On the "big job", I had been to the pier for barrier detail and had seen PO Eddie Byrne's blood inside his RMP, which was stored there.
Eddie Byrne's father had been a retired NYPD Lt. like mine.
I will ALWAYS have ZERO tolerance for drugs.
Two years later, I was hired by Nassau.
