Very interesting stuff. I'm always amazed when I see these old pictures how (relatively) little the police uniforms changed over the years. I mean, sure you don't wear the horse coats and have all those brass buttons, but I mean the basics...the shield is the same, the cap devices, the pants where you can even see the black stripe. I'm always fascinated by that.
One quick question, though. What is the "excursion-ship stampede of 1941" the pictures refer to? I haven't heard anything of it and I attempted to google it with no results.
I figure imsuit had probably about 10 years or so on the job back then, maybe he can shed some light.

your close .my father was a rookie cop back then and he just so happened to be on board that ship whixh was going to bare mountain .he told me some hot looking babe took off all her cloths and somebody yelled there was a naked chick on the bow .thats how the stamped happened. little did they know the guy who yelled was drunk and was looking at the figure head attached to the bow
