Check your departmental email, or hit up a turnout. The smart folks @ 1490 seem to think they can reinvent the wheel, and have now created [yet ANOTHER] new form that is required on ALL arrests. Good luck with some of the questions.

The way I see it is we will make more OT filling out all this new silly paperwork. Gotta love the bean counters we have running the show!

Redundancy in paperwork, what a brilliant idea by our hierarchy.

Back in the day it took 2-3 hours to complete the arrest paperwork by hand.
Then, Swift Justice was invented and it took 4-5 hours to complete the new computerized arrest package. (Nassau County being the only place on the planet where computerization made things slower) (This probably having much to do with the, then, recently retired Daniel Lashansky who had been hired to consult)
Then Impact slowed things even more.
It is to my great regret that I retired before the latest debacle, which I have read allows some to "rock around the clock" on even the most simplest arrest. (This after hiring retired PO's and Dets to consult on the project)
I am completely convinced of major incompetence.
A f'ing two year old could run this place better.
But, as always in the County, just follow the money. Watch who is being hired to "consult" or "design" the latest system.
The real answer is so simple.
OT can be cut and the process could be made more efficient.
Don't worry to those still OTJ, I'll never tell.
That is unless they hire me to "consult" at One BILLION dollars....

Wasn't IMPACT around before SWIFT ? You could be correct. It's been awhile. But, you get the point.

I remember IMPACT when I was in the Pct. SWIFT came about after I was in HPB and RMS was good for 8 hrs OT to "learn" how to use it.

RMS was the grand slam of overtime. What a complete disaster. And no one swung for that. It has to be the most user unfriendly arrest and records system ever created. I'll never forget the DA I was speaking too. She told me the judge, at arraignment, was so frustrated at reading the court information, because for some reason everything in RMS is capitalized, that he rebuked the Department as incompetent for buying, implementing, using this disgrace of a system. But hey --- It's great for making pretty maps....
