I never heard anyone talking any specifics about src or vacations, so I won't comment on that. A guy retiring with 30 years on is losing over $15G/year in his pension for the REST OF HIS LIFE. You ARE getting royally fvcked. Our turn IS coming. All you can do is collar up and make the best of things.

As a 1%er myself I believe we can't giveback anything of significance. Am I pissed off I'm losing $25-35K this year in raises, step increase, and no longevity the answer is yes! But at the same time we can't give into paying into medical or eliminating minnimum manning just to get a pay raise.
Unless its just a deferral or taking hours of OT in time etc...then we can't let Mangano touch the contract. I understand people planned for a certain rate of pay...we all did but we have to remember this county and this country is being broken down. We have to face facts that this economy is going nowhere but down and its only going to get worse.
I hate to be negative but this is as good as its going to get....I hate being stuck at the last step but we have to hold out to the end of the contract or at least until Mangano loses in 2013.

Do you realize that at the end of the contract everything you are worried about is up for debate, salary, src, min manning is all negotiable. If a resolution can't be reached now, what makes you think it will then. Our future contract will end up in perb and with the current climate and cuomo in office you can rest assure perb will not be friendly..........

We're losing alot in 2015 the way things are going. We will gain nothing by opening the contract. Even if we do whats to say NIFA won't freeze us again 6 months down the road. Not opening the contract preserves minimum manning and medical.

Healthcare costs have skyrocketed in the past 5yrs. Just about every union in the country has had to give in to pay into healthcare. We are not going to be immune to this and I think when everything shakes out we will be paying into healthcare. We need to preserve our pay, increases, steps and our pensions. The big thing beside healthcare is pension reform and I don't trust that we are grandfathered in because these politicians can change that anytime. We need to preserve the core things in our contract and work with things that would be the least painful to us. Realistically the economy is not getting better anytime soon and just about every county/state in the country is hurting. The politicians will never raise taxes, it would end their political careers. My choice would be to give up nothing but I'm just being realistic. They better count any money they saved during our pay freeze in negotiations for any givebacks we might endure. Be safe seems to getting more dangerous everyday and we need to stick together.

If you post any details put it on the members only site. Just a precaution so unwanted eyes don't read it.

Yes just be aware this is a public forum that anyone can view. Just be mindful of that when you post things on here.

Literally anyone can register to be a member. all you need is an email address. Anyone can sign up with any of the free e-mails like yahoo or hotmail and have as many fake accounts as you want. the members section is hardly secure. Allthough i dont think theres any earthshattering news coming from the PBA anyways. Hope Im wrong.
