After a few weeks of silence, the rumors have restarted. Just bored Jets/Steelers/Cowboys fans, or a little truth between the lines?

Yeah, the New Deal is that they'll be giving out some KY to all members, except to the 1%ers

In a little more than a month they want us to bend over to apply it a second time. It will go to a vote either way.

If it goes to a vote and it favors the 1%'s then its a vote that will never pass!

If it goes to a vote and it favors the 1%'s then its a vote that will never pass! The 1%'s have been getting the shaft during this whole mess. Not just the freeze but going back to when the PBA decided to have two seperate jobs. For the guys with time on, think ask your self how many steps you had to go through when you got hired and what the pacing of those steps were like. Regardless of if your voting for the deal or not when it comes out, alot of where we are is because of the PBA not looking out for all it's members and selling out the unborn, who are now cops and getting shafted. Should be an interesting open meeting.

Hold on a sec! I am actually one of the 1%'s that are suppose to be going to top pay this year... But from the talks i had with the old timers on this job, we all know they don't really care about us even if they say they do as sad as that sounds. They don't wanna give back anything that is gonna affect their pensions, so I feel that if it goes to a vote, us 1%'s are extremely outnumbered.

What ever deal they come up with will affect everyone in a negative way. Most of senior guys I work with care about the furture of this job, and the young guys are just that...the concern about pensions is very simple-what we get is what we get-there is no way to make it up later. I know all the younger guys have very real financial concerns and made plans based on what you saw in our contract, but no one I know thinks "who cares". What you do have going for you is the commodity of time to make up loses, and I don't say that lightly, I know it will not be easy. And as far as not wanting to give anything back, let me ask-what do you want to give back?? We've all given back a great deal. That being said, I don't think there is any way to structure a deal that would favor one "group" over another...nor should there be.

Come to my precinct and I'll show you a whole handfull of the "who cares" guys. It's even better when you voice your opinion and get told to "shut up new jack". There are 2 jobs. Haves and have nots.

And there are pockets of younger guys voicing their opinion, 'the old guys should retire'. We're all in this together. Cuomo is proposing a new stripped down tier for new hires. In a few years you'll be the 'haves' and we'll see how generous your group will be.

MYSELF AND OTHERS LEFT GOOD PAYING JOBS FOR THIS JOB WITH A CONTRACT LAID OUT AND PLANNED OUR LIVES. I USED ALL OF MY PENSION CONTIRBUTIONS FROM PULLING OUT OF THE CITY, MY DIFFERRED COMP AND MOST OF MY SAVING IN ORDER TO GET BY. I FINALLY GET TO THE PROMISED DAY "1/1/12" AND NOTHING, NO RAISE, NO FINALLY HAVING A LITTLE EXTRA CASH IN MY POCKETS, SO HERE I AM ALONG WITH 500 OR SO OF YOUR COWORKERS, MAKING SUBSTAINALLY LESS THAN EVERYONE ELSE DOING THE SAME JOB. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS NIGHTMARE WILL END AND TO HEAR OTHER BITCHING ABOUT LOSING SHORT ROLL CALL, VACATION PICK SENIORITY OR HAVING TO WORK A LITTLE MORE IS SELFISH.
