What's funny is if that, wing tipped browned shoe MF, was getting his brain smashed in, the cops language would have never been heard nor an issue to HIM.
Too much time and too much media available.
Lesson to all.

Sorry, but the cop is an asshole...99.99% of the time after writing someone whether 1 or a handful of summonses I always got a thankyou from the motorist..if the motorist was a loud dick then they got a lecture but this cop has no justification the way he is acting..and I have seen guys I worked with act that way for nor reason either other than they just wanted to be a tuff guy....yeah he did get a thankyou too..LOL..but still way overboard...

That was a little over the top for a VTL.

He had the presence of Ret/ Leo or active. One red light, no side arm that I saw. Either personal vehicle or other agency after 20. Maybe traffic or TLC, a guess.

A lot of these city liberal dwellers get a kick out of staging these videos with actors playing cops. They're only intentions are to discredit law enforcement and get as many hits as possible on YouTube. I'm sure this is staged.

Now the NYPD is saying he is one of their's. The vehicle however is not. Fact is if by now you do not assume you are being taped then you are a fool.

With today's day and age you are always being recorded. The bare minimum should be said. Don't take the bait. I'll have the last laugh when I get my pension check and he's still driving his cab.

Can't be stressed enough. YOU'RE ALWAYS BEING TAPED. Who says I stress it? In fact car stops are much less stressful now that I don't argue with the motorist. License and registration. ..... I stopped you for such and such.... you have to answer by the date on the ticket, drive carefully. Nothing more nothing less.

We need some inventive genius to come up with an EMP device that will erase the memory and or tapes on all electronic devices within a given radius. A simple press of a button and poof, were back to 1965. Back when pagers were popular, especially with drug dealers, we quickly learned that 10 seconds in a microwave turned them into bricks without any visible damage. We need something similar, but portable, now.

NYPD detective who berated Uber driver stripped of shield and gun, chided by Bill Bratton
Updated April 1, 2015 10:08 PM By ALISON FOX alison.fox@am-ny.com
An NYPD detective from Suffolk County caught on video berating an Uber driver was removed from the department's Joint Terrorism Task Force and stripped of his shield and gun for behavior that "reflected badly on everyone who wears a uniform," Commissioner William Bratton said Wednesday.
The detective, identified by a police source as Patrick Cherry, was also put on modified duty and the Internal Affairs Bureau as well as the Civilian Complaint Review Board will investigate, Bratton said.
"No good cop could watch that without a wince," Bratton said of the taped encounter between the detective and the unidentified driver, which went viral soon after it was uploaded to YouTube Monday. "That officer's behavior violated every one of the tenets that we are attempting to teach at the police academy."
City Detectives' Endowment Association president Michael J. Palladino told the Associated Press that Cherry is "a person of good character and an excellent detective."
"He really should not be judged by one isolated incident," Palladino said in a statement.
It remained unclear Wednesday why the detective pulled over the Uber driver Monday. Cherry, in plainclothes, is seen in the 31/2-minute video belittling the driver's English while accusing him of traffic violations as the detective tried to park his car.
"Do you understand me? I don't know what [expletive] planet you think you're on right now," Cherry says in a booming voice, peering into the car through the opened driver's side door.
The driver repeatedly says "OK," apologizes and refers to Cherry as "sir."
Moments later, the detective slams the door and leaves. A passenger then assures the driver he is recording the encounter.
Cherry returns and less than a foot from the driver's face, again yells at him.
"I don't care what you have to say, do you understand that?" he says as the driver again tells the detective "OK."
"I don't know where you're coming from or where you think you're appropriate in doing that, it's not the way it works. How long have you been in this country?"
The driver tells Cherry he's been in the United States almost two years.
Cherry says: "The only reason you're not in handcuffs, going to jail and getting summonses in the precinct is because I have things to do. Because this is not important enough for me. You're not important enough."
In a statement, Uber spokesman Matt Wing condemned the detective's behavior and said, "We are in touch with our driver-partner who was subjected to this terrible experience and will continue to provide any support he needs."

Then peple would see why a person was face down on the ground. I have had civilian complaints that were setteled in my favor because of video. That detective was a fool and he seemed like a bit of a pr-ck. Maybe he was having a bad day maybe not but in the end he gave us all a black eye.

Whatever you think of the Cop's conduct, what News12 did was far, far worse. Those azzholes not only broadcast his name and home town but they went to his home and put it on TV. It's impossible to be an active Cop without making a few enemies. News12 just gave them all the information they need to get even. This was not a crime. These are the same humps who refuse to give a description of crime suspect unless they are white males. Anyone who gives these scumbags a break or even talks to them is an azzhole. They hate you. Hate them back.
