Things are getting bad out there and criminals are getting more desperate than usual.

I keep hearing the CO's complaining that crime is skyrocketing but the public has no idea how bad. PBA should be getting the exact numbers and put the stats on tv and a website dedicated to county stats only.

The other day the corrections officers union had a commercial on Z 100. It was simple and to the point. It talked about the bus crash with the 16 prisoners and 3 CO's on board. The announcer clearly explained what happened thanked all involved and ended the commercial. The general population is oblivious to what goes on around them. They only know what is spoon fed to them by Newsday and News 12. I believe the PBA tactic of attacking the politicians has not worked. No one cares or listens when we complain about our problems. The people need to know what is actually happening Maybe they should borrow the tactic the CO's are using. Think what you may about them but to me it worked. It got my attention and I listened.

I agree. People will think it's propaganda if the PBA puts out an attack ad. However when you put out a message like that it makes people think for themselves so they can connect two and two together and they can come to their own realizations that maybe things aren't as safe as the politicians like to say it is.
