6 police officers to face a litany of charges in the death of Freddy Gray. When this "states attorney " spoke it seemed like she already had pre determined their guilt. Disgusting.

I wouldnt go that far in NY. The pba has gotten us pay & benefits that outweigh many other private sector occupations, and protections that go with it. if you have issues with your current pba board, that's to be addressed at election time.

The weapon was illegal for Gray to carry. Regardless of what type of knife it was. He was on parole and it's a good arrest. I'm trying to find the article right now to cite the source which shows Maryland Penal Law. The 'activist' State's Attorney gonna have egg on her face hopefully. The three original cops who arrested Gray have a good case to see theirs get dropped. Aren't DA's, Attorney Generals and such supposed to be impartial? What a disgusting time we live in when some use their position, which is supposed to impartial and based on the rule of law, to fit their agendas...

Sorry Fartman - I love your posts for the most part. But I respectfully disagree. I was the proud recipient of a arbitrary & capricious 209 from our disgraced / fired ex-Commissioner. The union fought tooth and nail to successfully resolve it.

The PBA will fight hard for you( if you are a union favorite, otherwise you get the run of the mill" we did the best for you") if it doesnt concern MONEY or givebacks to benefit the BOG and all the perks they get, as you witnessed first hand with the pay freeze and shvtty new contract you have and no longevity...

Sent to me by another Rant member.
FYI, not vetted.
Hereare the facts on the late Freddie Gray of Baltimore:
Freddie Gray had apre-existing spinal and neck injury and had severe nerve damage and scar tissuefrom an accident that Allstate Insurance was paying him for, in a structuredsettlement. This monthly payment and drug money were his means ofsupport.
Freddie had hadseveral unsuccessful spinal fusion surgeries over the past 4 1/2 years. His most recent spinal/cervical operation was a week and a half before he wasarrested on April 12. He was on doctor's orders to remain home and in bedto speed recovery from that major operation.
Instead, Freddie wasout manufacturing and distributing drugs on the streets of Baltimore, and strenuously resistingarrest.
Freddie had a longcriminal history (see rap sheet): many pages long for manufacturing anddistributing drugs and controlled substances, including heroin, cocaine, crackcocaine and marijuana.
He had been convictedof numerous other felonies including assault, firearms violations, breaking andentering, armed robbery, receiving stolen property, and the list goes on and onfrom his 18th birthday. In Baltimore County, juvenile recordsare forever sealed except by judicial order.
Freddie, known on thestreets as "Pepper", was 25 years old, 5'8" and weighed 145 lbs.when last arrested. He had been incarcerated at least 12 times, thelongest stretch being 2 years in prison in Maryland. Freddie had recently tried toconvert his structured settlement from Allstate into a lump sum payment fromPeachtree Funding, of Atlanta.
Friends say he wasconfused by the pgrgraperwork and legal terminology. Following his arrest, Freddiewas placed into the paddy wagon by the police officers who had arrested him --black officers, all of them. He could have easily slipped on the floor orbench, or twisted his neck or shoulders to reopen his recently fused andweakened spine.
Enroute to the Countyjail, the paddy wagon stopped once so that officers could put leg restraints onFreddie to calm him down and restrict his movement.
Freddie was adangerous career felon, well-known to the BPD officers, with a damaged andhealing spine and neck, and was supposed to be home healing a week and a halfafter surgery.
He should not havebeen running around on the streets of Baltimorecommitting drug felonies and resisting arrest.
Why are so manyresidents of Baltimoredestroying their own city with looting and arson? Because it's a good wayto get new shoes and TVs for free? Seems to be. They sure know howto pick their heroes, don't they? By the way, none of the eight BPD officerswho arrested Freddy has ever had a complaint against him for brutality or useof excessive force.

08-28-08 possession of narcotics

Hopefully it's true but I don't know if I'd trust anything with that many grammatical errors.

So the left has selected this guy for sainthood. I wonder what their criteria is for being condemned to hell? Must be something pretty bad.
