Here's a link to an article on a 1951 Mercury Convertible that is owned by Retired Sgt. Artie French........I worked with Artie in the Third when he was a Ptl. and Detective........He later made boss and went to the eighth......All along he was driving his 51 Merc.....

John, is this the same cop you posted about his cars on the 1st Rant many years ago. I think at the time he had `50 Ford's and he contacted me about my `57 Caddy hubcaps and if they were for sale?

Might be the same guy.........He's only into his Mercs though..........I used to see him driving the convertible down Montauk Highway in East Hampton every Sunday......He's lived out in Wainscott, near Southampton for years and built dozens of waterfront homes out there.........His brother was a Dick in Suffolk's Seventh Squad.......That's the Detective Squad that handles the extreme east end, from Riverhead out to the end of the Island at both points.......
