A Nassau County police officer has resigned after he admitted to forcing a woman to touch his penis through his uniform during a traffic stop earlier this year. Garrett Mannerz pleaded guilty Wednesday in county court to official misconduct. The 34-year-old former Third Precinct officer was arrested after the woman gave investigators a recording of one of his repeated sexually suggestive phone calls that followed the incident. Prosecutors said three women were in the car he stopped on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow on Feb. 27. After the driver was given a sobriety test, Mannerz summoned a passenger to his patrol car, where prosecutors said he told the woman to if she “did something for him” he would let them go, then coerced her into touching him sexually. Afterward he asked her for her number and called later for a date, prosecutors said. The six-year police veteran was sentenced to 80 hours of community service. He was barred from contacting the women and is ineligible for a pension. NICE WORK SCUM BAG.................DID YOU COME FROM THE CITY ?

We've had quite a few of these screwballs. The funny part is that it's rare that anyone ever sees it coming but once it happens no one has a problem believing it.

I realize I'm in the minority on this one, but I actually feel bad for the guy. We've all listened to our little head instead of our big head at times, fortunately it usually turns out OK.
Having said that, I don't believe for ONE MINUTE he 'forced' her or 'coerced' her into touching him. I think he hit on the wrong chick. If I recall this correctly, the car stop was back in February, and the woman didn't come forward until months later. This was on the old Rant when the allegations first surfaced. I find a more likely scenario was that she was hitting on him, he found her attractive and asked her out. She gave him her number and here we go.
Some months later the relationship, for whatever reason, falls apart and we have a woman scorned. Suddenly, all these accusations come out. She may have tapes of him talking dirty, or "sexually suggestive," but I don't doubt for a minute she was a willing participant in this whole sordid affair.
Was this PO the sharpest for attempting to date a passenger in a vehicle from a car stop? Probably not, but should he lose his job? I don't think so. Give him a 30 day RIP for being unprofessional, but he's no sexual predator, nor did he do anything as egregious as the Suffolk HWY PO who forced women to walk home in their underwear.
JMHO, but there's got to be a helluva lot more to this story than meets the eye.

True, there is usually more to all of these stories. As far as losing his job goes, he resigned. That means they made him an offer which would not be in his best interests to refuse. This could have been just one of many incidents in the past. Something that surprised me when I started my career was the bond of trust that existed between the Police and many of the Citizens they serve. When I responded to calls, many times people told me things that should only be discussed with a spouse or very close family member. Those times reinforced in me that I should never betray that trust for any reason. Such a betrayal would not only stain my character but would also harm the reputation of the Police Department I was allowed to serve. His voluntary resignation insures that there will be no more incidents in the future. It's in his best interests and and the Department's.

With all the available women out there the last thing someone needs to do is chase after one of them while you're on duty, in uniform and driving an RMP..........
I've seen an awful lot of guys get screwed up doing something like this guy......I've never seen it go as far as someone losing their job, but I know a lot of guys that lost car seats or even got transferred out of the precinct after some bimbo made a complaint.......Most of the time the complaints were total B/S, but the cop always loses in cases like that.....
I did all my skulduggery off duty and it worked out fine.......
I have also never met a female that I could trust as far as I could throw her........I always used my big head to work out the details of any womanizing I was about to undertake before I let the little head into the negotiations...........If you don't do that the little head will always make the wrong decision and you'll be Sh*t of of luck in the end......

I've never dined while taking a dump. What did occur to me is that you should have patented the idea. They now call it "multitasking".
