I understand completely all the disagreement with my post. As some of you guys know, I'm a union rep at my job and I just can't stand to see people lose their jobs, especially over something like this. While he did resign, you're right Redstone, they effectively forced him to resign. I don't know, maybe I don't have the experience you guys do, plus it hits a little close to home:
Recently a member of mine went to a customer's home. Flirtations abounded, they exchanged numbers and text messages (to include a picture message sent to him) over the course of three days. Then, her "significant other" found out and made a complaint. The customer sided with her significant other and went through with the complaint. All the while, it was mutual between them. She claimed he must've stolen the racy picture she sent him from her phone. Couldn't be. GPS records show he was not near her home when the picture was sent. Long story short, while the company wanted him gone, we were able to whittle it down to a 5 day RIP based, in part, on the customers lack of credibility. My point is, I just hope whoever investigated this case did the same explorations as we did to determine credibility.
And, for the record imsuit, I have done that as well. But, it was at a fancy restaurant that I took a fat chick to. Had to take care of business and wasn't going to risk my filet being gone by the time I got back! It's good to see you, too. I'm sure we'll find something for Hugo to do in place of being our guide. After all, it's fall and there's lotsa leaves everywhere.

Oh, BTW, ncpdretired...were you really a rookie 55 years ago?!
What I wouldn't give to buy you a cup of coffee and listen to your stories from 'back in the day.' Wow!

Then, her "significant other" found out and made a complaint. civvie, I see your point. I think the key here is whether whatever occurred was on company time. There is no problem if a Cop or someone in another profession gets a phone number goes on a date after hours. But when an employee is doing the customer in the stock room or while making a house call, or a Cop is making improper requests on a car stop, that crosses a line. And even if these things are done properly after work, an employee risks a possible false accusation as was the case in the incident you cited. If someone is going to get involved in risky behavior at work, they should at least make sure they're employed at a minimum wage job. Losing a really good job over stuff like this is as dumb as it gets.

Civilian0101,
NCPDRET worked with my DAD when I was a snotty 8 year old in Franklin Square......My Dad retired back in the 70's but only lived a few years and died of cancer.......
I'm glad NCPDRET lived as long as he has and it's great to hear from him on the forums...........It reminds me that the job is just a big family.........We're All Connected...........
I'd love to buy him coffee some day too but I can't fit into any of my old uniforms anymore and I'd have to pay FULL BOAT for the coffee and that's not acceptable..............I'm from the old school too...............

When Imsuit went to the Property Bureau to turn in his uniforms it became the biggest joke in HQ. You told the clerks "I'm here to turn in my empty suits," instead of taking your uniforms they took you. ;D

They sold his ties to a soup kitchen, kept a few homeless people fed for a week.
It is rumored that one of his shirts was sold to Ringling Bros.
