Being in the city job I don't agree with him posting that but it is what it. Only thing is I wouldn't say it's a good laugh. The one thing we have left on this job (being the Police no matter what agency) is being able to take care of each other. The truth is us City guys will never be able to return the favor as many times as you guys have. 10 years on the job and I still don't get why people write over PBA cards. If the driver is disrespectful then write em. I have had nothing but good interactions with other agencies. But I've noticed that Highway guys no matter what job are a different breed.

Two sides to every story. And it's his nephew, he could be a perp and not even know about it.

Exactly, its his "nephew"...Almost everyone these days has a PBA card, substantiated or not. I'm not advocating writing over PBA cards, but like previously mentioned there are 2 sides to every story. I will agree that HWY guys are 'different' but look what's delt with on a daily basis!

Lots of cards out there and if you don't know a cop you can buy a card on E-bay. Wow, just saw a story that the cop's nephew was a named a Saint! He's not a good kid; he's a great kid!

There are way too many cards out there. So many, in fact, that they've become meaningless. There are a ton of them for sale on Ebay. The City gives them to everyone. There's even one that's designated "teacher". Are you kidding me? There's no one single group that hates Cops more than Teachers and the NYC PBA is giving them cards. I wish someone would have handed me one of them when I was still on the job. I could have made my month with one stop.

Alas, you can buy them on Ebay too. Just about anything used to work on me, even an old Spring3100 in the rear window. Those days are over.

Sad but true: We locked up a burglar last year after a short foot pursuit. First words out of his mouth, "I don't know if it matters but my brothers on the job." It didn't.

None of us has the facts........ however You could take the card and or get him on the phone. Two good options. I'd do both if he was an A$$hole. If he was just another VTL # half that effort would probably suffice. It's dealers choice depending on the hand you're dealt. My experience on both ends of the fence, there is always more to it.

Mini shields are sold at any jewelry store or booth in a flea market. They hold no credibility anymore. Go into TRI-county and they will sell it without even asking if your OTJ.

What's really funny is the way these guys pizz and moan when one of our guys doesn't bend over backwards to give them and their 3000 assorted relatives and friends courtesy. Have you ever tried to get any kind of courtesy from them? Forget about it. It ain't going to happen. They demand the most and give the least. I'm glad I don't have to deal with them any more.

Tornado, way to stick up for your brothers. That is a non sense assessment of the job. I have 9 yrs on, worked in complete $hitholes my whole time. Even shot and killed 2 bad guys in that timeframe. Your telling me your more of A Cop than me cause you got hired pre 2001. Oh please. I would have been hired in 2001 but I was too busy serving my country. It's funny, 9 years on this job, worked in Far Rock, Gang Squad and now bedstuy. I'm young looking (that means I have a goatee and wear Yankee fitted hats). And I have NEVER had a problem with any Cop. I've been pulled over, first thing I do is apologize then inform the MOS that I'm otj and have a gun on me. I've never had a problem. Only guy that was ever a douchebag was a NYPD Hway Cop who was hired waaaaay before 2001. He was a douche til he saw my Sgt shield. Then it was all oh oh oh. So please with that post/pre 2001 BS.
