Those old vests are expired...they are really opening themselves up to a serious problem if something should go wrong...how does the PBA feel about this??? And along the line of other fun recently heard fluff...anyone hear about a couple of chiefs that are on the chopping block for backing Souzzi??

Well there was one chief who had papers in till suozzi declared...the papers were pulled. I believe that person thought they were in line to replace dale if suozzi won.

Is it true that the class is not out on field training because they have no vests and uniforms....because the county hasn't paid the vendors and they are refusing the new order until they get paid for the previous order??? Anyone?? Funny! I didn't even know there was a class in there. It sounds about right, tho. The County was never very good at paying their bills on time.

Sort of like the gas situation the other day..... 1st pct, 4th pct, headquarters and highway were all out of fuel..... cant wait till the MDT message comes out for stationary patrol with cars off to save gas....... or better yet all cars from one town have to 91 with the Sgt who has a County credit card to go to the gas station and fuel up, then all the other cars from another town do the same. Dont laugh it has happened before.. This nothing new. This happened back in the 90s. The supervisor had the card, he'd have guys 91 at a gas station and they'd gas up.

so much is wrong..but when people at the top of organizational chart care more about their careers than the departments welfare than the place is doomed....

That was evidenced after hurricane Sandy when the NYPD and even the people ran out of town at LIPA were smart enough to allow their employees to get gas at department facilities while our higher ups hoarded the emergency gas supplies for themselves, issued orders to prevent us from securing gas pumps for all 1st responders and then docked guys who were late for work. This was also another failure of Team Carver because the previous PBA President would have shamed them publicly in the media until our members were treated properly...over a year later and nothing has been done t change this for the future...

I remember gas shortages in the past. ( over 36 yrs ago) we ALWAYS had fuel in the tanks at the station houses and were asked to limit our use, in the D.D., to investigations that we could not conduct by phone. ( Statement would follow up later)Patrol, as I remember, were not really curtailed as the public expected to see the Blue and Orange PD's on patrol as they shoukd be. It sounds like the job that I was a part of and loved has really turned into a real bucket of shvt. I doubt that I could put up with what goes on these days…. I don't know how you guys do it…...
Just saying…...

Just saying…... Sounds that way to me too. They're in the process of turning a once proud profession into just a way to pass time on the way to a pension. The way things are going, horses and carriages may be the patrol vehicles of the future....

No vests for police officers? Where is the pba? This is why we need new blood. A strong union would have a press conference about officer safety being threatened to save a few bucks or the failure to pay a bill! Everybody screams new blood but nobody votes new blood.
