I agree, nobody has balls to do that. We can't even get guys in steps to disagree w the board at an open meeting but they are going to do it in a big setting??? No way!
And all these rumors u guys are talking about is still a long ways away according to the guys I spoke to. Nifa has not signed anything. Is is closer? Yes. But Pba guys say that while its going well, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Felt like I've heard that one before. Well at least we have been getting great Pba email updates letting us know what's going on!!!!!

What top pay guy would vote yes to only 1 raise? Give up the best thing you have, they cant hire, for 1 raise??? They would start mass hiring, killing ot. All the top pay guys would make less then they are now with no hope of any more deals, only the lawsuit. If this is the deal, it is made to fail.

From what I heard that isn't entirely true. There might be a zero for one of the years but top pay guys would get their raises for the other years.

Come on people we all know this deal is just another b.s. rumor. We have been hearing garbage like this every year since the freeze began and 3 years later nothing will change. Guys in steps will continue to suffer until the lawsuit plays out.

The county has finally realized that they need to hire. Supposedly they want to put in a class right after the new year, and have them go 6 days a week so they will be out by summer. The county sees how they are hemorrhaging by paying out the OT money.

Even if they hire 200 guys next year I'm sure they'll be at least that many retirements. It'll take them 3 years to catch up.
In the mean time, the stress from not getting my contractual raises and the fact I'm getting older means my sick time will be going up next year.
Thanks, Ed!

And if they hire 200 more guys with them paying into medical and pension, they will be getting the reoccurring savings they want. The only problem is they will have to pay the separation checks to all the people running for the door.

The only problem is they will have to pay the separation checks to all the people running for the door. Under the current contract the new guys get non-contributory tier 2 benefits until 12/31/15. Nothing towards medical or pension. That's the only card we have to play.

My main concern is top pay guys get all of their raises. How do they manage to get by?
In all seriousness, I've heard rumblings from top pay guys that they may not get "all" that is owe to them. I still don't believe a deal is happening anytime soon. But to the top pay guys on here, wouldn't u sign to get any raises at this point? It means more time with your family. And let's be honest, hiring a class in jan is not going to kill Ot this year. With many guys expected to retire, it will take quite a lot of hiring to reduce Ot.
I would love to hear some of the responses to my question from top pay guys.

You want to hear what a top pay guy thinks? I think you should stop crying about what a top pay guy makes. Only the clueless public and Newsrag would do that. Your not the only one frustrated and losing cash these days. Most top pay guys I know believe steps should be the first thing in any contract.
