They are scheduled for a committee meeting today 1pm only for the Leg, and full meeting on 10/21. Since the vote passed on Friday a special meeting for 10/9 popped up "that relates the the 2014 budget and public safety" I have been unable to get a straight answer from the PBA as to when they are voting on it. Info from Nassau Legislative website

A comment was made by Dave Denenberg during the finance Committee on adopting next years budget, he stated along the lines the PBA and other deals are not a good idea because there is no money in the 2014 budget to pay for it he tried to get in a debate over it but they brushed him off until the full legislative public hearings, one which is October 9th. Looks like he made it a point to throw out there his disinterest in the union agreements. I have been watching the meeting since 1pm online.
additional, Krumpter spoke in regards to transferring 12 million from operating to HQ fund for termination pay and HQ OT increase, due to complex investigations and high profile cases this year, also stated within 2 weeks of the PBA deal being approved or denied they have 150 people ready to pull the trigger on, states we have about 2100 cops and need to be at around 2300 and further states he needs them to be ready by next summer and projects 45 million dollar savings over the next 8 years because of the current deal on the table.
RMS was brought up from the LEG about driving up OT, Dennenberg asked Krumpter if it is generating increased OT, said we are looking at a new system because after 2015 Microsoft will no longer support the system.

We were told at the PBA informational meetings the vote count would be on October 4 and the Legislature was going to vote on it October 7. then NIFA would have 30 days to act on it. So who was lying to us this time? PBA? Mangano? Legislature? or all three?

So who was lying to us this time? PBA? Mangano? Legislature? or all three? It has to go to the Leg twice once for committees and once at the full Leg. Today was committees I think it's going to special full leg meeting this week.

This is a guy that the PBA has endorsed as being a friend to us in the past. I have seen him a few times with Suozzi shaking hands at public events. There is a lot of MOS in Dennenberg's district. If he is going to take a position against this deal then he will not be getting my vote. It also gives you some insight as to what stance Suozzi may be taking on this deal as well.

It's my understanding that the County doesn't really have to vote on it right away if they don't want to. They can wait 30 days and then NIFA has 30 days. If that's the case and if Mr. Ed thinks he's going to win, it would be in his best interest to wait until after the election to bring it to the Leg, therefore, it doesn't look like he's supporting us or giving us raises. He can, in his mind, win the election and then get it passed quietly without Newsday going after him for supporting us.

Dont be so sure he'll have the majority in the leg this election even if he was to win. Lots of seats up for grabs. There are over 35,000 more registered democrats in nassau county than the same time last election.

If this deal does not get passed with this legislature you are quite correct it could be a democratically controlled legislature, then who knows what will happen. Something tells me we have no idea what political games are being played. But make no mistake about it they don't care about you or your family. I think its going to get very interesting very quickly and were not going to be too happy about it. Hope I'm wrong, but recent history is not on our side. Little aside I've been in my house for 4 years and my school taxes have increased $1572, my general tax has gone up $77 in that time. fvck you nassau county legislature and everyone who thinks we are the problem, fvck you!

Well, if this is a con and we're still frozen you can bet 1/2 the 150 guys they plan to hire will go back to the NYPD.
If this is a con we'll be frozen through the end of 2015.

was just at turnout and two members of the board were there. they said that the leg will 100% be voting for it. then NIFA will have 30 days to decide and these members of the board think that NIFA will not use the entire 30 days to make a decision. so if all that is accurate we should know where we stand rather quickly.

The county needs this deal. A ton of people are about to retire and if we are still frozen, they won't be able to hire. They also are going to have to promote. We are hanging off a cliff and if they don't act very soon, there is no chance they will be able to keep up with all the guys leaving. Look at the short roll call numbers, every guy we lose hurts. If they play games ot will spike, pensions will rise, and guys will be so burnt out, banging in will be common practice.
