I didn't think we had to worry about our vote or the legislature's vote. NIFA is the big one. Hopefully with the new chairman they see the millions in savings.

Maybe after renegotiating this contract for a third time the county will honor it? Maybe Jimmy can give even more back before the deal is done. I was at the meetings after we won the initial lawsuit and remeber Carver up on his podium giving his RAH RAH speech, about how the PBA wasnt going to make a deal with the County and how there would be NO CONTRACT extension. Jimmy is just another politician lying to his constituents and then doing the old flip flop and changing his tune. This whole deal was done ass backwards, it should have been approved by the legislature first before going to a membership vote. Now the ball is in the County and NIFA'S court, and just wait and see how each of them will blame the other for delays. I voted NO and am unwilling to sell my soul to the devil just wish there were more of you with a little resolve to see this thru.

After reading all the pro's and con's on this vote that most of you all where a part of, I can only suggest that you will get what ever "THEY" want to give to you.You know when the powers to be are lying, 'cause their lips are moving......
Been there in the past.....

Its easy to say that when you're making $35,000 more a year than the cop working the post next to you!

No I am not at top pay actually I was frozen just a couple of months prior to reaching top pay. I am a person with morals and values who is willing to fight for what I was promised when I took this job, nothing more nothing less.

Not just within this job or law enforcement. Look at what is going on with the economy, cost of living, no jobs....etc. You're NEVER going to get what we were PROMISED! Face facts these are different times! If we can maintain our chart, benefits, and get everyone to the same pay rate its a NO BRAINER. Just pray NIFA approves it or else we are screwed!

I heard a "Rumor" Kaiman wants more out of the deal but it will most likely come from the unborn. This way it doesn't look like he just came in and voted yes..

Hey Opie, reelrampage35 might be a 1%er and have morals, but the fact is his wife makes $100,000 a year as a teacher so that money means nothing to him.
Too the 1%ers who have a family with a stay at home mom it means everything to us. Cut the crap with the moral and values talk bro. Don't feed me that bullshvt. I have morals and values also. Family values where I want to do what's best for my family.

I'm fortunate enough to have a wife that works, but unfortunately like you said if you only have one income, granted it may be $95,000 we live on the Island. I personally know 2 guys who switched jobs(one from city, one from private industry) who have eaten their savings and now have to work 250 hours of OT to keep their houses. And they don't live exorbitant lives. Nor did they prior. I don't see a prob with it passing the legislature but in all honesty I don't think NIFA is going to just rubber stamp it just because.

Same boat here brother. Wife takes care of kids and we don't live a lavish lifestyle....top pay means more for college savings, mortgage payments...etc.

He put across 2 options that was voted on...either vote yes to the deal or no and go through with the lawsuit, which was dealt a major setback. Imagine if he didn't work on this deal before hand. Membership voted yes...smartly so.
