According to the email there is no deal at this time. That means all of the nonsense so far isn't true. Well. I hope it isnt . It couldn't be, could it? Who sells out the living and the unborn. That would be ridiculous.. Right?

exactly... carver must be pissed one of the delegates leaked that email he sent with the "deal" Maybe. Or maybe he wanted it leaked in order to guage the reaction from the membership prior to finalizing the negotiations. Think about how well the last deal went over after all the publications, voting etc only to have it struck down by NIFA. He may want to know how much heat he'll get prior to comitting to something. So my answer to all of us getting screwed from this proposal is keep bringing the heat!!

Mangano wrote in a letter to Jon Kaiman, chairman of the Nassau Interim Finance Authority, that he believes employees who can be hired and fired at will are not covered by the freeze imposed by the financial control board in 2011. His administration has "honored the spirit of the freeze" by giving pay raises only to appointees that have taken on additional responsibilities as jobs have been eliminated through cost-cutting, Mangano said.

I have an insane idea. If the argument stands that NIFA has no authoruty to control salary increases for individuals that have title changes then how about the PBA propose to the job that each year of service through the steps be given a seperate title. 1st year is like "vice deputy corporal" year 2 is deputy corporal 3rd year full corporal etc. 4th year senior corporal all the way to top pay. I know that It sounds utterly retarded but if they want to play games with BS loophole semantics so should we. The job itself would be in favor because it makes hiring possible.

True but mangano did sign the last deal which was rejected by NIFA. Albeit it was probably only a political ploy to garner some if our support prior to the election. But he dd actually sign it.

that's like giving every cop his d/.... the commish would have power to do so....but who is commishs' boss....mangano..... Nope, negotiated in a contract or MOA . Soa/ differant titles...many not civil service, but pay and title commensurate. D/sgt, D/lt. Di /Insp. Dc/ Ac. etc Designations are considered promotions as per this issue.

Ok so if the PBA was able to enter into an MOA with the county to change designations to Police officer 1,2,3 etc since it is not a direct monetary agreement does NIFA even have any authoriyt to intervene? I know the eventual outcome of such an MOA would have major financial ramifications but diectly they are not entering an agreement that is financial in nature. Its just job titles.

Then we would have to prove that we have taken on additional responsibilities as jobs have been cut to reduce costs.
