Detectives can still be associate memebers of the PBA in addition the DAI. That's what I meant.

The associate dues are not exactly cheap. It may be they are just becoming partial members.

The option was always there. Detectives do not have to belong to the PBA. It may have changed but the Associate dues used to be cheap so I stayed. I've been a member for over 40 years and I'll be a member when I die. I wish the PBA had done what the DAI did though. When I retired I paid $300 and my dues were paid up for life.

what are you talking about? ?.. PBA and DETECTIVES dont go hand in hand buddy No way you're a cop. First trying to tell eveyone that an open meeting was on a friday. And second, not knowing a percentage of detectives maintain their pba membership when they get promoted and still pay dues to the pba.

I am dues exempt from the RPA and the PBA because of age and years of membership.I still pay dues to the DAI 'cause I can't afford the one time cost of exemption. The PBA has given me my last year of Life insurance cause at 80 the rate jumps astronomically, far above what I can afford. If Detectives are leaving the PBA, they are nuts, the life insurance is well worth it before age 80.

With the $700 in associate dues, I'm guessing a Detective could double his insurance coverage for the same cost.....
